The travel ring

Do you have a "travel wedding ring"? You know, a simple ring that you wear on vacations or to the pool? A ring that holds up and you don't have to worry about losing or scratching your diamond?

I've been wanting one for a few years now. I don't really want to wear my real ring to the pool or the gym, but I definitely don't want to go without one and look "single" to everyone else.

Get what I mean, girls?

So I've been shopping around online and came across a website that advertises Tungsten Wedding Bands.

I have white gold for my wedding and engagement rings, and they require fairly regular maintenance. The back needs to be polished (from the scratches) and the gold starts to turn yellow after a few years. Anyway, the Tungsten rings have a lifetime guarantee and they're supposed to be.....wait for it......scratch proof. So I can wear it anywhere and don't have to worry about it when I'm at the pool or on vacation- it should hold up great!

So this week I ordered the 6mm dome wedding ring. I just got it in the mail today and I love it! When they say comfort fit, they mean it. I cant even feel it on! It displays a little darker that white gold or platinum, but it's got great shine and looks awesome on.

So if you're looking for a travel ring, or even an everyday wedding ring that will last forever- through chasing behind babies to swimming pools and the gym, this site comes highly recommended by The Housewife.

Nice, B just got a new wedding band, a Tungsten one and he loves it. Why you ask did he get a new ring? He lost his original one....

My ring is 18 carat white gold and it yellows so quickly! I wear mine everywhere. I guess I am not too worried about messing it up.

My husband's wedding ring is Tungsten and he loves it! He picked it for its indestructability.

I have a silver band that Bill got me for our first anniversary. It's from James Avery and is very simple and comfortable. I wear it to the pool and the gym just like you said. Great minds think alike.

I have a "travel" band. It's great to have. I wear it when we travel out of the country, to work out, to work in the yard...yada yada.

They're a great idea!

I've actually heard that tungsten rings are quite difficult to remove in an emergency and can't be re-sized, so I'm somewhat wary of them. Rather than switch off between a nice ring and a travel ring, I personally like the idea of upgrading to a nicer ring for an anniversary that can still be worn for all occasions--that is, if you're ok with wearing a ring that isn't your original (and it sounds like that's the case, since a travel ring would likely be worn for most of your everyday activities anyway). White gold sounds like it needs a lot of maintenance, so something like platinum, which is more durable than white gold and won't discolor, might be a good option, especially if you couldn't originally afford it when you got married.

if you are searching for a ring that you can wear at every occasion then tungsten ring is the best one that you can opt for..I never used to take off my tungsten ring from finger for last two year and you will not find even single scratch on it…

I am actually surprised that metals like titanium and tungsten are in such high demand. Neither tungsten nor titanium can be sized, so don’t gain or lose any weight! Then again, the styling of wedding bands created with these metals tends to be much different than more traditional designs created in platinum, palladium or gold.

I had to get a tungsten wedding band for my husband because the first ring we bought him, which was just a plain gold band got bent so bad while he was at work he could no longer wear it. Since I bought him the tungsten band he wears it alot more often and it never gets bent or scratched but he still takes it off while he is at work so it doesn't get caught on car parts.
