I'm a huge fan of movie score soundtracks. I have a few composers that I love. John Barry and James Horner are my favorites, and I'm always on the lookout for new scores. This music is incredibly relaxing to me and brings back memories of the movie it belongs to. There's just something about movie scores that hits me differently than any other kind of music. Each song tells a story... and since I'm a writer who loves music, it's like getting my cake, and eating it, too.
I own a bunch of music like this and listen to it every now and then. The best part? The whole family likes it! Here's a list of some of my most treasured music.
Braveheart- track #11
Legends of the Fall- track #12
The Cider House Rules- track #18
Gladiator- track #17
My Life- track #1 (I had this song in my wedding)
Dances With Wolves- track #4
American Beauty- track #2
House of Sand and Fog- track #12
Field of Dreams- track #7

Oh. My. Gosh. I'm the same way, and you just listed a TON of my favorites, too! You know what other soundtrack is really good? "Last of the Mohicans", the one with Daniel Day-Lewis. It's awesome.
Yes, I'm all about the movie music, too. A favorite for years was the soundtrack to Far and Away, and I happily do iTunes searches for things that "got to me" during a film.
And the movie "My Life" -- talk about your heart strings. I pull it out and watch it now and then, and cry my eyes out every time.
LOL I thought I was the only one. I'm a James Horner fan too. Other soundtracks I like are from Pirates of the Caribbean & Lord of the Rings.
When my husband hears them he's like what are you listening to?!?
I loved all the music from Braveheart and Gladiator. I thought about naming my son Max (didn't happen) after Russel Crowes character. Good taste in music!
